Young Enterprise

An advocate and volunteer for Young Enterprise, Alexa participates in business Masterclasses, these are designed to introduce young people to business concepts and to start to think in an entrepreneurial way. Alexa also visits schools informing them about the benefits of getting involved in Young Enterprise and encouraging students to investigate potential opportunities within the business world and how to develop these further.

Alexa's interest in Young Enterprise stems from her involvement in the scheme whilst in the sixth form at Copthall Girls Comprehensive School in Mill Hill, London, in 1994/95.

Young Enterprise Mission Statement:

  • The Young Enterprise Mission is:
to inspire and equip young people
to learn and succeed through enterprise
    The Young Enterprise Vision is:
That all young people will have the opportunity
to gain personal experience of how business works,
understand the role it plays in providing employment
and creating prosperity, and be inspired
to improve their own prospects, and
    the competitiveness of the UK.

Young Enterprise Board members are responsible for ensuring that all young people within the local area are made aware of Young Enterprise programmes and are given the opportunity to take part. The activities that the members engage in are mostly operational; linking with schools and helping to organise YE events such as trade fairs and celebration events.
